Dear Sisters,

We would like to welcome you to our Carmichael Stake Primary Blog. We are very excited to be able to use this wonderful format for you to share your ideas with one another. As we visit each of your Wards throughout the year we see you all doing so many amazing things in your Primary's. We hope that you will use this blog to share your ideas with one another. Each ward will be able to have one person post directly to the website (currently the Primary Presidents are the registered users) or you can contact Sister Kinghorn at carmichaelstakeprimary@gmail.com with the stories and photos you'd like to share.

2011 Activity Day Girls Humanitarian Day

On Saturday, May 21st we met with about 40 Activity Day Girls from our Stake for a Humanitarian Day. This year our goal was to 1) make pillowcases to donate to Conkerr Cancer 2) tie fleece blankets to donate to Homeless Families and 3) make cards for Seniors living at Manor Care Senior Home. Sister Child's welcomed the Girls and their leaders and explained  a little about each organization we would be supporting this year. Sister Geri Beck, our Stake Humanitarian Specialist came and talked to the Girls about last years projects that were completed at the Humanitarian Day. She told them where the items were donated and how much they were appreciated. Sister Beck then told the girls about Family Promise and how the blankets they would be tying would be used by Homeless Families. It was such a successful day, that some of the wards took fabric home to have a follow-up Activity.

Thanks to Lindsey Child's and her sisters Brooke and McKenzie who spent hours and hours tie dying pillowcases, each girl was given a pillowcase of her own to remind her of the service that was rendered this day.
