Dear Sisters,

We would like to welcome you to our Carmichael Stake Primary Blog. We are very excited to be able to use this wonderful format for you to share your ideas with one another. As we visit each of your Wards throughout the year we see you all doing so many amazing things in your Primary's. We hope that you will use this blog to share your ideas with one another. Each ward will be able to have one person post directly to the website (currently the Primary Presidents are the registered users) or you can contact Sister Kinghorn at carmichaelstakeprimary@gmail.com with the stories and photos you'd like to share.

Learning about Family from the Stake Presidency

Children learn about 'Family' from President Scott McKee during ward conference. President McKee brought pictures of his family and explained to the primary-aged children that they are part of an earthly family as well as a heavenly family. Here children draw a picture of their individual earthly family and contribute those drawings to a Picture Album to be presented to Carmichael Stake President Steven Taylor.

Carmichael Stake's Family Fest a big hit with primary-age children.

Carmichael Stake's primary-aged children find the Stake's Family Fest to be lots of FUN!  Here children use imagination to fashion 'faces'. Stake Primary First Counselor Kori Pilkington oversees the artistic venture as parents look on.

Carmichael Primary Pioneer Day Celebration

Carmichael Stake Primary Celebrate Pioneer Day 2011

The 3-Legged Race proved a little tricky but eventually the participants were enjoying themselves

Learning to Churn Butter was not just good for the pecs but an experience in concentration.

Panning for Gold in a wading pool full of water and mud had is a dream come true for any kid!
Getting the hang of the Hoops game was a little tricky for some petite participants.
These two 'pioneer' girls captured the heart and soul of Pioneer Day.
President Kristin Childs got on her 'pioneer' for the day.

The Ward Primary leaders and children  brought much enthusiasm and cheer to this year's Pioneer Celebration.  What a wonderful way to share our Pioneer heritage with our children.  They remember the spirit and joy of the day long after they have put childhood behind them.  Hearts are full and gratitude deep for your loving dedication to the work and steadfast faith in the Lord.

Fair Oaks 4th Ward Activity Days

Today our Activity Day Girls met at the Sacramento Temple. I took a picture of each girl individually & at another activity we will be decorating frames so that they can put their picture in it to remember this special day. We walked around the temple grounds & the girls LOVED posing for pictures. They looked so beautiful! We talked about the temple, what we wear to the temple, when you can go to the temple, what some of the rooms in the temple are, etc. I was very impressed with how much they already knew!! Then I had each of the girls write a letter to themselves. They could write their testimony, their goals, or they could write about how they were feeling at the temple that day. We sealed their letters in an envelope & they wrote on the front: Open on June 29, 2021. I asked them to keep the letter in their journals & they can open the letter in 10 years. We closed our activity with brownies & capri sun! It was a wonderful morning & we feel so blessed to live so close to the temple!
